My name is Ismael Hernandez and I have been playing soccer for several years. I found a love for the game and played competitively ever since I started. I have played on many different teams as a goalkeeper and now play for the Barca Residency Academy in Casa Grande, Arizona. Throughout the time I have played, I have learned many things and grew through my many experiences. I have become a leader that doesn't have to wear the captain's band in order to command the team. I strive to play my best no matter where I am and will always play soccer to the best of my abilities. I aspire to not only be the person that can lift the team up and give them a confidence boost, but show them that even if I make a mistake it won't be able to put me down. Also, even though I love the game of soccer, nothing comes before academics because that can dictate anything for a student-athlete. In order to play games, you have to stay on track with academics and I always strive to make sure that I put school first because even at the college level that has the power to take you off the roster to play in the next training or game. I always look to be a leader on and off the field along with being at the forefront of my studies.
