I started playing soccer when I was three years old and quickly felt a special connection with the sport. I would watch professional soccer matches every weekend, which inspired me, and over time, improved tactical understandings of the game. When I was young I was usually the smallest player on the field. Soccer is a very physical game and I often had to adapt and find other ways to compete. This led me to place a strong emphasis on my tactical and technical development, which led to me becoming a better player today. While I have become bigger and stronger, and certainly more capable with the physical side of the game, I believe my game is more influenced by skill, creativity, and intelligence. That being said I have also learned to play with an edge to my game, and try to be as disruptive to the opposing team as possible. Soccer taught me a lot about hard work, perseverance, and teamwork, and I am always looking to learn something new and improve my game. I was fortunate to have many good coaches, who allowed me to learn, and fueled my passion for the game.
I play primarily as an attacking midfielder, but consider myself very versatile. When needed I have also been used as a holding midfielder, winger, or in a secondary striker position. As a player, I have excellent ball control and use my dribbling skills to break down defenses, create passing lanes, and maintain possession. I consider myself a creative player with good vision, who has accurate short and long range passing, always looking to create goal scoring opportunities, and can finish my chances. I anticipate well when to start the attack, as well as, when to break up plays defensively. I consistently play at a high tempo, but at the same time, remain focused and composed even in difficult moments.
While I am determined to play soccer at the highest level possible, my education is also very important to me. My post secondary academic interests include both education and business including sports management and athletic development.
