Jackson Clyde Kestler '20 Recruiting Profile

I am an excellent student and top-level athlete. I am from a small rural town and from a young age, it became clear that I had to travel to a larger city to play soccer. Opposing Coaches would insist that my coach take me off the field to stop scoring. I started commuting 35 minutes each way to play club soccer at age 8.  At 7 years old our all-star team came second in the Recreational Soccer State Championship in Del Mar CA.  Ever since, I have travelled to compete at a higher level in soccer. My team and I have made a steady climb, often changing clubs but keeping the same players, through the ranks of Southern California's top club circuits. More often than not, I am the leading scorer for the division we are in. This year we are in the Champions League level of Flight 1 in SCDSL.

Academics are just as important, I am number two in the class and take as many AP courses as offered in my small rural high school. I have been offered two USSDA tryouts but have had to turn them down due to distance from my town. Academics is just too important and commuting over an hour each way would hurt my studies.

Both Grandfathers were the first persons in their families to go to college after receiving athletic scholarships. Both met my Grandmothers in college. My Father and Mother both played sports at the NCAA Division 1 level.

I would love to represent the University that is the right fit for my academic work ethic and soccer skill.
