My name is Abram Webster, and I am a class of 2024 player who lives in Sacramento, California. I am 17 years old, weigh 165 pounds, and am 5 feet 10 inches tall. I have been a starting forward on my High School Varsity team since freshman year.
At first glance, I may not not appear to be any different from any other recruit. However, a closer look will reveal that I am not your average athlete. I have been playing soccer since I was very young, and watching and playing the beautiful game has had a huge impact on my life. Aside from soccer, I am also a talented swimmer, which is a sport I have participated in for many years, and I was our best swimmer in my sophomore year for the Varsity team. These two sports have helped to teach me that hard work means as much as natural talent.
This year was a challenge for me during the season, which only encouraged me to try harder. I played several new positions, including center-mid, defensive-mid, and outside back. These positions are quite different from my usual position at center-forward, but I worked hard to adapt, and while I only scored one goal, my 11 assists were a major contribution to my team almost reaching play-offs.
Academically, I am very motivated. Both of my older sisters, as well as my mother, finished in the top 5 in their graduating classes. I am trying to achieve a similar finish to my high school academics. I am currently ranked 6th in my class, and I have taken multiple dual-enrollment courses from the local community college, American River College. I hope to play club soccer soon, but I most likely will miss out on this due to the expenses, as my father has to provide for 9 other children in our home.
Aside from academics, I try to be active when I'm off the field. I run, swim, and work out, as well as maintaining a healthy diet. I am very religious, and I am proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, this does mean that I will spend my first two years out of high school on a mission for my church.
Overall, I am an ideal recruit. I am academically adept, skilled on and off the ball, and I am an incredibly hard worker, which will help me achieve success. I would love to return from my mission and enter a 4-year university.
