Dane Baker '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Dane Baker. I am 18 years old and I am a student at Monte Vista High School in Danville California.

I have grown up in a family where leadership and discipline is very important. Over the past few years, I have played a huge role as a leader in my school and community through organizations such as Boys Team Charity, fundraisers, speaking events, award ceremonies and many others. I have been on student council and leadership every year since I was in the 5th grade and I have learned what it really mean to be a role model and put my best foot forward in order to benefit the people around me, including myself. I have also learned how to manage my time with sports, school and family while still maintaining a GPA average of a 4.0 all throughout middle school and a 3.9 up until my Junior year of high school.

Aside from school, I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old. I started off playing other sports like basketball, baseball, flag football and track alongside soccer. I stuck with soccer because of how natural the sport came to me and how much I enjoy the amount of discipline it takes to train on and off the field physically and mentally on a daily basis. For the past 4 years I have played on the BUSC’s development soccer academy team in Pleasanton CA. I have always been described as a coachable, dedicated and focused player. I strive to help my team by always giving 110% and communicating effectively to my teammates. I have been a captain on this team for 4 years now and I participated in a 4-month soccer leadership training course which continued to enhance my leadership skills and qualities. Previous to this course, I received an invitation to an academy training center program and games/showcases with our club’s older academy team.

Ultimately, my goal is to continue my love for the sport by playing at the college level with a very competitive sports program and high level of academics. I want to go to a well-rounded college that challenges me on and off the field.
