I have been running since I was 13 years old, and based on my success, I now desire to run at the collegiate level. I enjoy the daily commitment, as the choices I make need to be taken into consideration as they can affect my performance.
I train year-round and try to lead by example, and by doing so, assume a leadership role on my teams. I am very coachable and one of the hardest working runners on my teams. This past cross country season I was injured, but am now working extra hard to get back to my previous level of performance.
In school, I have worked hard to achieve a high GPA, even taking classes at the local junior college. I also volunteer at different running events and am currently a member of the Spanish Honor Society.
I want to attend an academically prestigious college as well as one that is competitive in track and cross country. Finding the right college that meets these criteria is very important to me as I want to excel in academics as well as athletics.
