My goal is to become a Mechanical or Civil Engineer. I also aspire to play soccer for a college team. I am soft-spoken, of strong moral character, as taught by my parents. From the time I entered school I've struggled with reading, writing, numbers and comprehension. At age 13 I was diagnosed with dyslexia, and at age 15 that diagnosis was narrowed to a type of dyslexia less than 5% of the worlds population suffers from. I have completed the Barton Dyslexia Program's 10 courses via a Barton Systems Tutor. This program, along with my schools' IEP program continues to teach me to cope and overcome the challenges of Dyslexia. I was further diagnosed as being extremely spatially intelligent, which drives my Engineering desire as I am mechanically creative. As I'm learning the skills to overcome my disability, my grades are improving. I desire to attend MIT where I can apply and expand my mechanical skills via challenging academics.
