Diego Delgado '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Diego Delgado, I am 18 years old and I am a recent graduate of Bullard High School in Fresno, CA. I have been playing soccer since the age of five. At age seven, I decided that I wanted to be a goalkeeper. Although most people do not like being a goalie, at an early age I knew this is what I wanted to do. As a goalie, you are the leader of the team. You can see the whole field and you can tell your teammates where to position themselves. Best of all, as a goalie, it is very satisfying to block a shot knowing that you are the last line of defense. I have been playing for both my school and competitive league. As a 9^th grader, I was on the Freshman soccer team, and as a Junior I played on the JV team at Central High School. Currently as a Senior, I am playing soccer on the Varsity team at Bullard High School.

In school I strive for academic excellence and graduated with a 4.0.  I was recently accepted to Cal State University - Monterey Bay and I have decided to attend. My major will be Cinematic Arts and Technology. I will be moving to the dorms on August 19th. 

I am now playing for Valley United SC 04 as goalkeeper. We recently played in the Davis Legacy Showcase in Davis, CA. Though it was challenging, I still have the desire to continue playing and learning the game. I am going to be playing in the College Soccer Academy ID Camp on July 27th in Fresno. 

With my commitment to academics and my strong desire to continue playing, I look forward to any opportunity to help Monterey Bay in any way I can.
