My name is Pierre Khoury. Watching myself grow as a person and player through the game of soccer is what I live for. I thrive under pressure and competition keeps me sharp. I aim to play the highest level of college soccer possible while continuing to excel academically.
Born in 2004, I am a junior graduating with the class of 2022 at Millikan High School in Long Beach, California. Throughout my high school career I have managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA. This year my intention is to achieve a 4.2 GPA due to my AP English and Pre Calculus Honors courses. Some of my extra curricular activities have included being in my school choir for the last 6 years, participating in the Interfaith Youth Leadership Initiative of Los Angeles County, involved with the Society of Youth Organizations at my church in downtown Los Angeles, and attending the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club at my high school.
Currently I am starter for my Division 1 high school varsity team as well as my Premier club team Fullerton Rangers. My love for the game started when I was 7 years old when my father signed me up for my local recreational league. Initially I was not the most talented player on the field but I fell in love with the game. One year later I joined my local club team FC Long Beach where I played for the next four years proving myself locally. Eventually I outgrew my local club and moved to a more prestigious club team, CDA Slammers based out of Huntington Beach. That season we went on to win many big tournaments and were even USYS Cal South National Cup finalists. One year later I moved onto my current club team Fullerton Rangers where I have played my past three years.
During this challenging period of COVID-19 I have taken full advantage to improve myself in all aspects of the game. I have been attending speed training three times a week at 6 am allowing myself time to work on my soccer skills and my physical strength during the day. I have been working harder than ever during this time to maintain my starting position and surpass my competition on my High School and Club team.
My strength and determination stems largely from being the youngest of three children. I know how to fight for what I want. My father who immigrated from Beirut, Lebanon at the age of seventeen never lets me forget that being steadfast and perserverant through all of life’s challenges will always pay off. Whether on the field or off, I keep this advice close to heart.
