My goal has always been to play soccer at the highest level. Growing up on the beautiful island of Hawaii, the seeds for my love of soccer were planted with the support of family, coaches, and friends. Then, as a sophomore in 2021, I was invited to join the Barca Residency Academy’s U16 MLS Next team in Arizona. Even though that meant living away from my family and being in an unfamiliar environment, I was determined to make the most of this opportunity. During that year, I learned a tremendous amount about being resilient and what it takes to succeed at the highest level. My coaches praised me for my work ethic, great technical ability, and awareness as a midfielder. In addition, I excelled academically, maintaining a 4.26 cumulative GPA and being admitted to the National Honor Society.
This season, I have been offered another amazing opportunity to continue my growth and development in the Nomads Soccer Academy School and Residency Program in San Diego where I am a member of the U17 MLS Next Team. I also continue to achieve at the highest level academically by taking AP and college level courses.
As shown through my journey, I am willing to sacrifice, persevere, and stay focused through change and challenges in order to accomplish my goals. My character, work ethic, and ability on the pitch make me an excellent candidate for high level college programs.
