I first started playing soccer when I was five years old, living in Atlanta, Georgia. Immediately, I knew that soccer was going to be a big part of my life. When I was thirteen, I moved to New Delhi, India with my family for my mom's job. This was a major shock for me because I needed to leave behind my team, my friends, and everything I knew. When I first arrived in India, I found it difficult to communicate with the other players on my new team. Over time, I was able to get to know these players better and to break down the language and cultural barriers. I found that soccer could be a way of bringing us together. After living in India for three years, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. I have since been part of the club team Lamorinda SC and the varsity team at my high school Miramonte. I have deeply enjoyed building bonds with my new teammates and have grown in character and skill. Since the very first time I kicked a ball, soccer has been the center of my life and has caused me to become the person I am today. I feel lucky to have played under some extremely supportive coaches, from all over the world, who have taught me the importance of always working hard and being coachable. These values have rewarded me in the classroom and on the field. I am a good candidate for your team because I will never stop working hard. In college, my aspirations are to continue advancing my soccer skills and to continue my education.
