Success and hard work are things I strive for every time I do something. It doesn't matter if it is on or off the soccer field, I give it my all because I know it is going to benefit me in the future. Up to this point, everything I have done is for my own success because I have experienced firsthand of how good achievement feels and is the best feeling in the world. So far, I can only show success in school work and soccer but I know if I apply hard work and discipline, I can achieve anything I want in the future.
On the field, I have achieved great success as I play in the Elite Academy league which is a competitive league with quality players. Over the summer, I traveled to New Jersey for the Steel National Camp which is a camp that selects us for the club's National Team. I also play for my high school's Varsity soccer team, and I am the leading scorer on the team. As I play for my club team (Steel United EA) and my high school team, I have learned many traits on the pitch that reflects over to the things I do off the pitch that leads to future success, which are teamwork, leadership, and the importance of hard work.
Although I put a lot of work in soccer, I apply the same rule in my schoolwork and giving back to the community. So far, I have a 4.3-weighted GPA in high school and a 3.5 unweighted GPA. This shows that I don't limit myself to only soccer, but I can have great success in school while taking honor and AP classes. Although it takes a lot of work to maintain a good GPA while practicing four times a week while playing on weekends, I know with the right mentality I can maintain good quality in both soccer and schoolwork. In addition, I have volunteered by coaching kids in summer camp which shows my passion for the game and try to teach kids about the things I know in soccer.
Overall, the reason why I play soccer is because I want to maximize my potential by playing in the collegiate level. I play soccer because of my passion for the game and strive for success as I also strive for success in studying.
