From kindergarten through eighth grade, I was fortunate enough to go to a Private School (Milpitas Christian School) that instilled essential characteristics in me such as perseverance, respect for others and society, along with sportsmanship, that I now use both on-and-off the soccer field. My goal in college is to master both academic and athletic disciplines in order to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in the Science or Technology fields. This will give me the life long tools to become a successful and responsible young adult. I have unique experience on the soccer field as a goalkeeper for the last eight years playing year-round competitive soccer for the North Valley Youth Soccer League and school soccer (High School Varsity). Not only have I been fortunate to play for the same coach from my competitive and varsity soccer teams, but playing other sports (baseball - 7 years) has strengthened my hand-eye coordination and reflexes to further compliment my goalkeeping ability. My passion for soccer compelled me to choose one sport over the other. This was due to my current academic and athletic responsibilities now as a high school junior. Now, I do truly appreciate the full magnitude of the time constraints to be a successful student-athlete. In conclusion, I will use my perseverance and my drive to balance the current rigors of high school and the athletic demands on-and-off the soccer field that have added an additional dimension in my life and an appreciation of the value of a quality education and the quantity of time necessary to be a successful college level student-athlete.
