My name is Cristian Gonzalez Berbera I am a Center back Defender for Soccer I believe I'm like no other person out here I believe to be separated from others when it comes to my Discipline and Dedication. My courage to continue no matter the cost to not give up for my team is what separates me from others I have a Dedication to try my best during practice and off practice and be a leader for my team anytime of the day. When it comes to my Academics I tend to not try to slack off and have any work completed and on time so I can train and continue to grow.
To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to write on behalf of Cristian Gonzalez.
My name is Carlos Castillo and I am a teacher of economics at Silverado High School in Victorville, CA. I have been a teacher for the last five years and have come across hundreds of students. Cristian stands out as a hard worker, a dedicated student, and a person with integrity.
I have had the pleasure of having Cristian in my economics course this Spring semester. Cristian excels at a high level in my class. He comes to class prepared and ready to engage the content. I am highly confident in his abilities to rise to any challenge and excel. When it comes to evaluating students I look at two things. First, is the academic portion. He is hardworking, responsible, and intelligent. He has not missed any assignments and has performed well on all assessments. I believe he has the work ethic to persevere through any obstacles. He is the type of student who will find a way to succeed. However, grades only represent a portion of who a student is. I like to engage my students in discussions and debates. Conventional classwork does not give a proper assessment of what the student has learned or is capable of. When Cristian participates in these activities it is clear that he is applying higher levels of thinking in his responses. He is able to provide context and look at issues from multiple perspectives. His overall work in my class is reminiscent of my experience in my undergraduate and graduate studies.
In addition to being Cristian’s teacher, I also had the privilege of being his soccer coach. One of the most demanding positions on a soccer pitch is the center fullback. In case you are not familiar with the sport, the center fullback is the anchor of the defense. Any championship team requires a strong, reliable player in that position. When forming a team I am on the lookout for qualified candidates for this position. I have to be able to trust this player in the most difficult situations because they are the last line of defense. In essence, this player is the leader of the defense. Cristian was that player for me in every single game this season. It is impossible to estimate the impact he had on the success of our team this year. He was able to gain my trust by demonstrating his commitment and work ethic at practice. It is at practice where great players are made and that is where Cristian made his mark. When other players were taking a rest, Cristian was practicing his craft. I knew I could also be tough on him at times and demand more out of him. Many players would shy away from criticism, but Cristian always listened and maintained a positive attitude.
For the reasons listed above, I am highly confident in Cristian Gonzalez. I would recommend him for any program or university he applies for. If you have any further questions or require additional information, I would be happy to provide it for you. My number at work is (760) 955-3353 ext. 23206 and my email address is [email protected].
Best regards,
Carlos Castillo
