My love for the game of soccer/football runs deep. Ever since I was a small boy the game has engaged me in the most ardent of ways and led me to people who have become my best teachers and mentors. In this group I include my formative teachers: Inyego Rodrigez, and Tim Parsons, who patiently taught me skills, and my adult mentors Mark Norzai, Brad Friedel who continue to help me navigate the tough journey into the sports world. I am also grateful to all of my teammates, both on my current squad and former teams. For their support, challenge and continuing friendship that are a very important part of my life. Finally and perhaps most importantly, I am grateful for the support of my extraordinary family, who have been behind me for every step I have taken and completely supportive, even though my choices are different from the main family endeavors in music and media. Growing up in a famous musical family of high achievers has presented me with outstanding role models all with exceptional accomplishments. It has helped to established in me a desire to work diligently each and every day. Though my first love is soccer and athletics, I practice the cello daily, enough to know that if one begins at zero and works on their weaknesses, that over time any difficulty can be overcome. Much of my family and both of my parents write and perform music on the concert stage and for motion picture and television. This is performance at the highest level, and I can see by their examples that achieving a lofty goal is possible with talent and perhaps more importantly diligent and daily hard work.
I feel that the game has taught me to be a braver soul, more compassionate to others and teamwork with colleagues. It has also taught me to view my opponents as my best teachers, my failures as the best possible chance to learn, and that every moment I spend in this life of soccer I am becoming more and more the person that I was created to be. It has also taught me leadership and given me the opportunity to express that leadership both in action and in words. It has brought me my best friends and the support of my wonderful family.
I am a serious student in the classroom, maintaining an A average at River Oaks Academy Academy where as a Junior, I have had an almost perfect academic record. Through the guidance of my high achieving family and my soccer/football mentors, I have learned that achieving a lofty goal is possible with talent and perhaps more importantly, diligent and daily hard work. I also love the outdoors, great food and traveling. I can cook for myself and my family and have visited 38 of the 50 states in the US.
It is my goal to pursue soccer/football as far as it leads me in life, with all of my heart and mind. It is my hope that one day I will earn the gift of playing professionally.
