Soccer is in my DNA. My father was captain of the Bowdoin soccer team in college and played competitively in ‘Over 30’ leagues deep into my youth. I toyed with soccer balls before I could walk. I ‘scored’ goals in my backyard by age two.
As I said, soccer is in my blood. I played on the premier travel soccer club within Fairfield United for over a decade, mainly as a right mid, outrunning majority of my opponents and teammates. I am very fast. My best 1 mile time is 5:35. My mom ran competitive track as a mid-distance runner and contributed to my gene pool for soccer on her own merit.
I was honored as a Varsity high school player my Sophomore year at Prep and play outside right midfield, starting most games Junior year. I worked very hard to earn the respect of my coaches and teammates. In the off High School season, I participate on the Inter CT club team (formerly known as Everton) and will be attending every tournament they offer.
Besides soccer, I am active in the Music Department at Prep. I have been singing in the Select Choir and I founded the Beat Box club this year and we currently have 7 active members.
I am involved in many volunteer efforts through a service organization, SASO, (Scholars and Athletes Serving Others) and am in a leadership position as a Junior Deacon in my church serving on many levels. I have also participated in 2 summer Appalachia immersion projects (week long trips) helping rehab damaged houses for the underserved communities in West Virginia and Kentucky.
I was inspired at a young age to learn parkour (free running) and flipping. Being physically agile, I am able to perform many intricate flips on the ground and off of various objects (trees, rock walls, benches, etc). When I am not playing soccer, parkour gives me the physical and mental freedom and a great stress releaser. I also set personal goals with these tricks and enjoy achieving them.
Academically, I excel in math and science and enjoy these classes most. I’ve been building Legos since I was a toddler and as a visual learner, I lean towards geometric design and construction. I am also extremely well organized and possess strong math skills and am considering a possible career in Finance/Accounting as well.
My college ambition is single minded - to be recruited as a soccer player on a strong, competitive D3 college. This is my ultimate dream and look forward to all that is required to achieving this goal.
