William Hansen '21 Recruiting Profile

My Name is Will Hansen and I am a Goalkeeper currently starting on my NPL Team, Inter Ct.  I was a three-sport athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and lacrosse until I got into high school. That is when I decided to commit to soccer as my sole sport. I have played at nearly all levels of youth soccer, from recreational leagues early in my career, to pre-academy, and then high school and NPL currently.  I have excelled at every level I have played. Playing soccer year-round has taught me many things.  It has taught me time management, so that I am able to juggle traveling long distances for practices and games along with the rigors of a college preparatory high school schedule. It has taught me the value of hard work and high intensity training and how that translates to success on the field.  It has taught me leadership. Being the general on the field has helped me find my voice  to command respect, which helped me gain confidence both on and off the field. It has also taught me the value of teamwork, and that no one person is greater than the sum of all the parts. I am confident I can play at the next level. I believe my talents both on the field and in the classroom are worthy of attending and playing at a strong academic college with a competitive soccer team. Overall, I am looking for just that, a well-rounded college experience that offers challenging academics along with a  great soccer program.
