Personal Statement

I am Davi Pedreiro, currently a sophomore at Greenwich High School. I play soccer because I have a true passion for the game. I fell in love with soccer I think at the age of 5, after watching my first world cup in 2006, seeing Brazil get knocked out by France was something I will never forget. Since then my passion for soccer grew. Now I play for Shoreline Fc and for my local High School. I speak 3 languages, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. My true goal is to become a professional soccer player. I have a hard working mentality that nothing comes easy, everything in life you need to work hard for.

Player of the Year 2018 Friday June 8, 2018 To whom it may concern, I write in reference to Mr. Davi Pedreiro. I have known Davi and his family for over six years. Davi has been a part of my Premier soccer club for all that time and even travelled to the UK with the club and me to train in Liverpool, England. I have also had the privilege to see Davi play for GHS on many occasions in my previous position as the Girls Varsity Coach for GHS. I believe I have a very in depth knowledge of Davi as a soccer player and a person. In regards to soccer, Davi is gifted. VERY comfortable on the ball, competitive and has a winning attitude. He takes his soccer very seriously (he’s Brazilian!). He’s soccer skills have grown immensely over the years. This is part down to a good foundation of coaching, but mainly down to Davi’s determination and commitment to practice. This type of determination rubs off on his peers, as players look up to Davi. He is never afraid of pressure and a real joy to watch. Academically, Davi is a very good student. It is no coincidence that Davi’s application to work hard in soccer can be reflected in his academic achievements. He doesn’t accept second best. Regarding Davi’s personality, he is very infectious. Always smiling, always in a good mood and is very approachable by his peers. He brings happiness to every session. Davi is very respectful to adults and authority. Davi has great manners and a solid family upbringing. It is a pleasure watching him mature into a fine young man. I fully respect Davi and would vouch for him 100%. I wish Davi the very best for the future. I have every confidence he will become a very successful man in whatever field he chooses.
