My name is Kayla Darling and I have been playing softball for seven years. The sport has become such an important part in my life and I would like to continue with it through college. I have always worked very hard in school, and I will continue to work to achieve honor roll in high school, and keep up my grades in college. I want to go to college to not only play with a group of girls who share the same passion for the sport as me, but to prepare myself for my life beyond school. After becoming more serious about softball and making a travel team that played at a higher level, I began to focus and spend the majority of my time either studying and earning good grades, or practicing the sport to become a better player and strive for success and new accomplishments. I began to show an interest in softball in elementary school, watching my older sister play. After watching her play for several years, I joined a softball team as soon as I could. From there I grew to love the sport and realize how great it is to be a part of a team. I have always been a shy person, however that is something that I have had to break out of on the softball field. Since I became a pitcher I have gotten more comfortable in the circle and anywhere on the field, and I have been more confident and aggressive. I am continuing to work hard and grow not only as a player but as a person, and I hope that I would have a positive impact on any team that I join as I have many goals that I hope to accomplish.
