Philip Platek '20 Recruiting Profile

My school is one of the top academic schools in the country.  Moving forward my aspirations are to go to a good fit college that is academically challenging and still allows me to continue to compete in the sport that I love and has helped to define my life thus far. I am a very hard worker both on and off the field.  I am currently in my Junior year.  As a Sophomore, I received the St. Luke's Storm award. This award is given to the athlete (male or female) that best exemplifies the qualities of leadership and performance.  I am currently a Captain of my Varsity soccer team.  I have been starting as a Varsity player since my Freshman year. One thing that stands out on the field is my work ethic. I never give up,  and will never back out on a 50-50. I play with 150%.  For my school team, I play the position of striker and have the most goals and assists so far this season.  I score, that's what I do.  My scoring is helped by my speed and strength.   Outside of my school season, I play for Shelton FC.  We are three-peat Connecticut State champion and have won numerous tournament and league titles.  For Shelton FC I play the position of right and left wing.  Side note: I also play the center midfielder for the Varsity Lacrosse team at my high school while also training with Shelton FC Soccer team in the spring.  I find that the crosstraining of lacrosse at schools helps my soccer game in numerous ways.
