I have played soccer since I can remember, often playing up in level with my older brother where I developed technical skill and ability to play against older, bigger, more experienced players. However, that is not what I believe to be the most valuable of lessons I learned while playing with older players. It is from this experience that I learned the value of hard work, grit, and perseverance. Those skills are what have come to define me and helped me to stand out in the eyes of teammates and coaches. Those characteristics have contributed to my role as a leader with my teammates. My view of my role on a team is to support each member in their role on the team and contribute to the team’s success. My personal stats and accolades have been secondary to any team aspirations. It has been said that attitude, which was shared by my high school team, was what brought them the state championship after 35 years.
Not only am I able to bring a great attitude to the next level, but technically and tactically i believe i am able to bring a very well-rounded game. I am a very versatile player, able to play many positions such as outside back, center mid, and outside mid. Not only this but i feel i am in good enough shape to play at any level, considering i have a strong track and field base. Finally, apart from my technical abilities, i have a very strong understanding of the game and can read situations very well.
I bring my strong attitude not only to sports, but to academics as well. I have challenged myself throughout high school to take the most difficult classes available to me. I am eager to bring my academic and soccer success to the next stage.
