I started to play soccer when I was five years old. Ever since I have been to my local university and watched soccer games for several years, I have been inspired to play at the college level. When I started high school, I learned that hard work pays off when I got pulled up from the JV team to the Varsity team mid-season. I was proud of this accomplishment because my high school varsity coach had a policy of not letting freshman join varsity at the beginning of the season. In the 2018 and 2019 spring season, my club team went on to win back to back tournaments. I work hard both in school and in soccer, and I would like to continue this in a college/ university that would be a good fit with me.
This past year I became more involved in the mental side of the game and not just the physical side. I learned that your mentality and attitude on and off the field has effects not just on your everyday life but also in soccer. Developing a positive mental image of yourself can boost your confidence to the next level and put you above the rest. I am currently working on these aspects of the game so I can keep improving and become the best version of myself possible to play at the college level.
I am a player that likes to pass, but also dribble in the right circumstances. I have experience playing as a center back, but after realizing that I like playing in the center of the field controlling the tempo of the game, receiving and distributing the ball, and connecting the defense to the offense I thought that the position of defensive midfield would suit me better. Since becoming a CDM I have improved massively from where I began by watching the professionals on tv, reading about how to be the best CDM, and talking with coaches to see how I can improve.
