Let me start by saying I want to work to improve every day, not only athletically but academically as well; I'll bring that mindset with me no matter where I may end up in the future.
My final goal for college soccer is to use it for a steppingstone to go on and play professionally. Although that is my lifelong dream, I have a passion for psychology that I would like to indulge in when my journey as a soccer player comes to an end. When I get to college, I want to obtain a degree in psychology, with a heavy emphasis on counseling those who may be mentally ill or who have gone through a traumatic event in their lives. After I move on from my soccer career, whenever that may be, I will open my own clinic. Beyond using my knowledge of psychology in the real world, I can use it on the pitch to get in the heads of the opponent, which could lead to an advantageous situation. However successful I am in soccer or psychology; I will never forget where I came from. My father was a D1 track athlete, as well as an entrepreneur and the hardest worker I know. My mother is empathetic and extremely organized, and my sister is an athlete, so I grew up in a very competitive household. I stick by the fact that family is everything, and nothing will change that. |
