Goals and aspirations
My aspirations are to play goalkeeper at a demanding level at a Division I, II or III college or university. Following that, learn about life: applying myself, time management, interpersonal relationships, dealing with all kinds of people. I want a solid academic college experience in addition to playing competitive soccer.
Candidate
There is a recent game at a national EDP Invitational tournament in Panama City Beach, FL. I was the only goalkeeper on my team that traveled to this tournament. I played the nation’s #1 team (Santa Clara, CA) at the time. That game tested me like no other game. This experience pushed my skill level to a higher dimension. I had already played two games during this tournament. I can apply this overall experience to help your team win games.
Different from others in terms of academics, athletics and character.
In addition to my experience above and my strong academics reflected in my transcript, I want to let you know my mom has cerebral palsy. Growing up with a disabled mom has taught me many things. First, each person must believe in him/herself and stay focused on personal goals. Second, is not to be put off by someone’s initial appearance. Finally, there’s a richness in everyone’s life story. That’s why I joined Best Buddies (outreach to those with Downs Syndrome). When all these skills and experiences are combined, I feel I will stand out in your program.
