During my Elementary school years I wished I was heavier and taller however, this didn't stop me from becoming the great athlete I am today. As I have always considered myself to be disciplined and dedicated, size didn’t hold me back a single bit, it just led me to use my dedication and discipline to be best at what I do. Although I have always been a dedicated person my motivation came from two things, my mother and father always pushing me out of my comfort zone, and having an older brother who I always looked up to and wanted to be better than.
From the time I was in elementary school my brother and I would always play soccer together which brought competition to see who was better, Of course I always won. As I inclined to sports I was less inclined in having the natural smarts which my brother had, so every year when the report cards came out and I did better he would tell me “next year will be harder, or my classes are harder”, which gave me a little motivation to prove him wrong and to do my best.
Although the little competitions between me and my brother motivated me, my mom and dad also played a big role as they always made sure I was on top of my work and constantly doing something to better myself. For example, from the time I was little to now my mom and dad have constantly pushed me to achieve more whether it’s taking the harder classes in school (IB), or even playing in the best soccer league in Florida, they always wanted the best for me.
As I grew to 5' 11", stronger, and more motivated I began to focus on my physical training , the academic took a priority for a while to help build my athletic opportunities even more. This came with some tough decisions including: choosing soccer over baseball, saying goodbye to my first competitive soccer team for a much more technical one, attending high school outside my neighborhood with a higher academic program( IB), and my latest decision on Jun 2020 , involving a decision between trying out for MLS or ECNL team. After consulting with myself and thinking realistically about the effect on my school and family, I opted to try for ECNL, making the team as one of the best 180 players that will represent ECNL’s 10 best soccer teams in Florida.
Assuming that you are almost finished reading a little overview of me, you are most likely still reading this because you saw the potential and determination that others did on the field. I know that I will not always be the biggest and the best but with dedication and discipline I will always strive to be the best at what I do, and therefore I truly hope to get the chance to use my strengths towards my new goal of becoming the best person at the next chapter of life.
I hope for an opportunity to connect with the school and call you my alma mater
