Personal Statement

I am determined to play soccer at the college level and I will continue to tirelessly work in order to achieve this goal.  I am a versatile player, playing midfield, defense and forward.  I am predominately left-footed, but have trained to utilize both feet, including dribbling, passing, and shooting.  As I train on and off the pitch, I continue to develop a strong skill set, including an intelligent spatial awareness, composure, and decision-making to effectively contribute to my team.  I am always willing to lift up my teammates and create a positive environment to make those around me reach their highest potential.  Being a positive influence athletically, academically, and socially, are core beliefs of mine, as I believe that success can only be achieved by supporting and encouraging others in all aspects of life.  I play for Inter Gainesville KF U19 and at Buchholz High School.

I am the type of player that continues to work hard when everyone else is taking time off. In addition to my regular practices for school and club, I train with a former Olympic gold medal sprinter to work on both my body and mind. I also take personal training sessions with a former Division II soccer player, now on the coaching staff at a D1 school, to further expand my skills.

  • Evaluation by UT head coach Adrian Bush: You have a solid work rate in training and athleticism. Look to improve 1st touch and consistency on the ball in possession. Mentality to go 1 v 1 in the final half is important at the next level – look to make gains in this area. Defensively – look to improve deceleration as you approach attacker.

  • Evaluation by Florida Southern head coach Ashley Holmes: Overall, we felt you performed well across both sessions. Our notes were positive. You showed some fantastic finishes with an eye for goal. We liked the fact that you always wanted to go to goal and were not afraid of shooting from everywhere. Keep working on your ability to consistently find the back of the net from all angles and with different surfaces of the foot.

  • Evaluated at Florida Boys Academic 50 ID Camp @ IMG Academy on 06/28/2024 by Coach Grant of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Received the Captains Award for my team by Coach Grant. Skillset Overview | Technical Abilities - 89 / 100 Dribbling - Quality with ball at both feet. Good in tight spaces and makes good use of moves to beat defenders. Passing - Creates opportunities for teammates with accurate passes. Rarely over or under hits the ball. Tactical Abilities - 89 / 100 Vision - Field vision is very good. Constantly checking over shoulders on and off ball allows for quick decisions. Reading The Game - Does well seeing the first level of pressure and making appropriate decisions on the ball. Physical Abilities - 89 / 100 Strength - Did a good job handling challenges and played well shoulder-to-shoulder. Agility - Showed good agility. Good body positioning and footwork helped you change directions quickly. Mental Abilities - 89 / 100 Coachable - Responds well to coaching. Asked good questions and seemed to enjoy the learning process. Team Player - Great team-first attitude. Was encouraging and supportive to teammates throughout camp. Coach's Comments | Great attitude and a pleasure to work with at camp. Teague brings energy to every session. His ability to receive the ball on the turn and desire to go forward is a huge strength of his. His technical ability helped him be able to play out of pressure and create opportunities for teammates. As a 2026 grad, he still has time to develop tactically and has a lot of potential. He has a bright soccer career ahead of him. Improve First Touch - At the next level the game will be even faster, and it will be very important for you to improve your first touch, so that you will be able to play faster and set yourself up for the next pass. Improve Finishing - I would encourage you to work on your ability to strike the ball on frame. Whether that is with your left or right foot and with power or finesse. Improve 1v1 Attacking - I would encourage you to work on developing a 1v1 move. The ability to beat a player on the dribble will be very important for you at the next level.

  • Coach: Tommy Link | Technical Ability (One touch passing, dribbling to goal, shooting accuracy, heading ability) - Pretty good technical ability. Always room for improvement, such as moving the ball quicker when passing and dribbling and also working on your weaker foot. | Technical/Tactical (Keeping possession, 1v1 s, getting into scoring positions, defensive cover, passing into space, technique under pressure) - Good capability of keeping possession, finding good positions, and passing into space. Keep working on 1v1 interactions so that you are able to dominate when you try to defend and dribble past another player. The more you practice, the better you will get. | Tactical (Maintaining team shape, support with and without ball, decision making, tactical awareness, leadership, assertiveness aggressive defending) - This is something that you will develop as you get older and the more you play. Knowing when to make the right decisions on and off the ball come in time. You have a strong foundation of skills and are a smart enough player to keep improving this aspect of your game. | Overall comments – strengths and weaknesses - Fantastic attitude on and off the pitch, and a great personality. Again, you have a strong foundation of technical skills, that is, first touch, passing, and dribbling. If you apply yourself and want to keep improving, I have no doubt you will become even better. All the best in the future!
