My collegiate goals are to get a scholarship to play soccer at a university/college, and while I play for the team, win at least one title. I would love to start for a team once I am an upperclassman but could also be an effective super-sub coming off the bench. I think what makes me different from other recruits is my ability to balance academics and soccer. I put a lot of effort and time in to my schoolwork, because after all we are STUDENT athletes. A sharp mind not only helps me in class but also helps me make smart decisions on the field. While academics are a priority for me, I feel I am technically gifted as a soccer player and was born to play at a high level. My greatest skills are my vision and passing. Not only can I see where my teammates are and get the ball to them in dangerous positions, but I know where the other team's players are and can find space and receive the ball without being under as much pressure.
I also think that my character helps make me an asset to a team. For example, I know when to be serious and focused, but I also know when to smile, laugh, and help relax my teammates. There can be a lot of pressure on players some times, and helping remind everyone that we are playing the game we love with our friends often lets some of the weight off of our shoulders. I enjoy the mental side of the game and helping ensure a positive atmosphere where every team member wants to, and can, give 100% at all times. I always try to put my best foot forward in all I do and have a solid reputation of being someone my team can count on as a person and as a player.
