Competing at a college level is easier said than done. It requires a combination of athletic skill, dedication and academic eligibility - all of which I possess. I have and will continue to put hours of work on and off the pitch to perfect my craft.
As for my athletic abilities, I am a 6'1, 165 pound RW that tends to be moved into the CF Position as the game progresses. I have speed, with and without the ball in stride, combined with being very gifted in the aerial game. I also have a high motor that constantly puts pressure on center backs making it difficult for them to break lines.
Coaching wise, I am extremely hard working and coachable. I have had 4 different coaches in 4 years with my team, helping me learn many different play styles while becoming a role model to my teammates. Every coach has played and started me in a different position (ST, RW, RB, CDM) at high levels, showing versatility. In essence, I am open to playing the position coaches believe will best serve me and the system.
As for work in the classroom, I have a 3.51 unweighted and 4.31 weighted GPA. I have taken multiple AP and Honors classes which I've passes with a B average or higher. Additionally, I have started a non-profit organization with a friend called S.I.S (Special Inclusion Soccer) which gives kids with special needs the chance to play the sports they love.
In college, I plan to capitalize on opportunities both athletically and academically. I am keeping an open mind around college options and will ultimately chose the institution that can help me best thrive in the classroom and on the field.
Sincerely,
David D'Alba
