There isn’t a memory in my life where soccer hasn’t been a part of me as a person. Ever since I can remember I have been kicking a ball with my dad, or watching the Premier League at home. Being born in England and all my family being English soccer is a big part of all of our lives. It has been my passion and my greatest enjoyment for so many years.
I started to take soccer seriously around the age of 10 when I realised that I wanted to become better and better, and become the greatest I could ever be. I always strive to be the best and if I'm not, I work hard until I do. Whenever I join a new team or start playing with new people I always strive to play better than them. I think my work rate and determination are the characteristics that make me a solid player and person in general. I know that nothing comes easy and if I want to achieve my dreams or even short term goals I will have to work harder than everyone else.
My technique on the ball and knowledge of the game are two of my strongest abilities when I am playing soccer. I can direct a team from the midfield using my leadership qualities and have good communication with the team. I am never afraid to be vocal during games and practices and I think this quality can mold a team together. My technique on the ball also allows me to be in control and composed when my team has possession. I can slow the game down or I can pick out the right passes to break down the opposition. These qualities I have as a player are always being worked on as I am myself's biggest critique. I always see flaws in my game and work to get them better. My knowledge of the game comes from watching so much soccer on television, playing under coaches who have different tactics and styles of play, and also coaching/refereeing younger kids. These things give me different perspectives of the sport and allow me to put all of them together to create a great understanding of how to play the sport as an individual and as a team.
I think the way I play and my personality traits on and off the field will make me a great player for any coach I play under. I can adapt and love to learn different aspects of the sport. I show respect to my coaches and I always strive to be the best player I can to fit their team and the way they want to play.
