Personal Statement

I was born in Australia to New Zealand parents, and my passion for playing soccer has been with me my entire life. I am a dedicated, loyal, and coachable teammate. I am known for my strategic ability, skillset, speed and accuracy, giving myself and my teammates every scoring opportunity possible. I am able to use left or right foot at any time including shooting goals. I am also a versatile player, having been in Attacking Midfield, Outside Mid, and Forward/Wing where I can really show my speed. This versatility along with my dedicated skillset and coachability, I believe, will stand me in good stead to synchronize on a college team. Finding a good fit for myself is paramount in my search for a college and for my soccer. I intend on studying Business and Finance. I have committed to ETURE Sports Soccer program in Valencia, Spain for the 2022-2023 year, so I will be available for Fall 2023. I am also playing for Spanish club CD Betera in league games.

● Ethan was a very tidy midfield player who turns well with the ball. An excellent age for a player and a lot of ability to progress and improve. ● Is comfortable in possession and likes to keep it simple. ● Scanning when receiving the ball. ● Played some really good through balls and good vision at times. ● Showed a good change of pace in short bursts. ● Read the game well to recover and support the CB on day 1. ● Dropped in the back line to cover CB’s when one was out of position. ● Shared the ball well on day 2, creating link up play for the team. ● Grew into the games and the size of your opposition. ● Scored a fantastic goal on day 3 from distance. Gives good distance of support and passing angles for teammates. Group Play - Play was elevated in team activities. Great understanding of your roles and responsibilities within a team. Physical Abilities - 89 / 100 Endurance - Great work rate throughout camp. Showed endurance that helped effectiveness, especially late. Agility - Showed good agility. Good body positioning and footwork helped you change directions quickly. Mental Abilities - 89 / 100 Confidence - Great confidence, didn’t shy away when challenged at camp and played with a sense of urgency. Team Player - Great team-first attitude. Was encouraging and supportive to teammates throughout camp. Coach's Comments Ethan was a pleasure to work with at camp. He really enjoyed getting on the ball and taking players on to create goal scoring chances. His ability to get on the ball in the attack stood out. Work on getting soccer strong with your balance, so you can not be knocked off the ball. Work on how to defend when you lose the ball. Transitions and pressing. Look to speak up, so that you can get on the ball more.
