My name is Mateo Rengifo. I am a junior at Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Georgia and I am a goalkeeper. From the age of seven, I’ve wanted to make a living off the sport. Since then, that has become my first priority and so far I have done a great job at it. I am currently on a premier level team and been a member of the varsity team since my freshman year.
On the field, I consider myself as an intelligent player. I have excellent vision of the field and great foot control. I believe that a goalkeeper should also be a great field player. In goal, I am excellent in high and low diving, distribution, one on ones, and being a leader in the back. Many of my teammates consider myself a leader and a role model in the games and at practice. My coaches also know me as a hard working player who will do anything in order to help my teammates and my club better.
In the classroom, I am a hard working student. I always work hard in maintain my GPA and challenge myself to take harder classes every year. Education is equally as important to me as soccer. I plan to be first member of my whole family to able to extend their education further than high school. I plan to attend college and graduate with a degree in Sports Management or Business Administration.
