I was a captain all four of my years of playing Varsity High School Soccer (Freshman-Senior). I've played for clubs, for example, Hilo Rush, Kona Rage Fc, Select Season teams, Travel teams, and Kohala Fc. The highest level I have played at is at the college club level at Grand Canyon University.
I don't necessarily pass the "eye test" when it comes to what a goalkeeper's natural body looks like but when given the opportunity to compete for a spot I don't believe there is anyone that will work as hard as myself to maintain a starting spot. Coaches and Recruiters, often judge a book by its cover, and when given a chance to showcase my talents I have always proved those who've judged me, just on my body type alone wrong. The most recent example would be last season at GCU when I was thrown on the second team almost all year until we played Barca Academy and came out with 36 total saves, with 10 of those being 1v1's. The next practice I practiced with the 1st team and shined. I received an apology from my assistant coach and even from senior teammates. To compete at the college level would be a dream come true, as a goalkeeper helping a team reach the top is the greatest feeling in the world. I’d love for the chance to fight for the number 1 spot at any school. Aspects that make me different would be my unmatched decision-making, the strength I have as a keeper, and as a goalkeeper, you're constantly under pressure I don't back down from the big moments and just want to win. I hope to one day play semi-pro or even at the pro level so I could play the sport I love while making a difference in the world and #1 on the list buying my mom a house.
