Joe Wren '20 Recruiting Profile

I am the youngest of five brothers in my family.  My older brothers played college sports and my fourth brother will be playing college soccer next fall. My parents raised me to work hard and my older brothers constantly mentored me to one day follow in their footsteps and play college soccer.  My favorite quote is from an unknown person:  "Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard."

My goal is to find a school with academic excellence and an outstanding soccer program.  I put academics first, above anything else and understand that performance in school relates to performance on the field.  My club team has been the Hawaii State Champions the last four years and I was the leading scorer on my team (in Premier Division) at Surf Cup in 2017 and 2018.  I am a starter on my ODP State Team.  My high school finished 3rd in the state this year and I was the starting midfielder with 9 goals and awarded honorable mention for the All-Hawaii State Teams.  On my travel team I play striker and on my ODP team I play center back. I am very versatile, but I excel in the holding midfielder position.  I take pride in being fit on the field by running track and cross-country. I made the ODP Region IV pool.
