Greetings,
My name is Christian Marquez and I am an academy soccer player for the Chicago Fire, a student of the Saint Ignatius College Prep class of 2019, and a member of the Generation Adidas ESP program. I began playing soccer when I was six years old and and through practice and hard work have excelled to higher levels. My journey with soccer has brought me to a high level of understanding and executing a competitive level of soccer competence. I believe that soccer is based off of hard work and strategy for the game. I am an experienced player who has had the opportunity of playing internationally in the Cayman Airway International Cup, Costa Rica Cup, Fuerzas Basicas Internacional Sub-15 (2014 and 2015), and Generation Adidas Cup (2015 and 2016). My experience at these tournaments have taught me that international teams have an intense, aggressive, and intelligent style of play.
The summer of 2015 I was brought to the Fuerzas Basicas Internacional Sub-15 tournament playing a year up. This tournament was held in the City of Mexico. I had the opportunity of playing in the final, which was held in the Estadio Azteca. This tournament was also my first time competing internationally, an unforgettable experience in which I was able to grow as a player. I learned that the international teams will require hard work to stand out among the rest of the teams. Throughout the years I have viewed every game and tournament as a learning experience.
On the field I consider myself a composed, athletic, and experienced player. Not only that, but I like to show my leadership on the field. I like to guide players through my perspective of the pitch. I always attempt to guide my teammates with a positive attitude, and stick out for them if it is necessary. My athleticism always brings the best out of me, being able to cover ground in a short period of time is always an advantage.
In the years that follow I have aspirations of attending a college where I could study architecture, meanwhile playing for the soccer team. I find a passion and amusement in architecture, therefore it is my preferred field of study. My academics have always been at a high range. I attend Saint Ignatius College Prep, a prestigious high school in the heart of Chicago .Attending Saint Ignatius has pushed me to maintain high grades, as well as receiving the High Honor Roll position. Throughout the course of the years my passion for soccer has shaped every aspect of my life. The drive I have for the sport has allowed me to conquer all that comes my way. I have become a responsible player, as well as student.
