Energetic on and off the field: I love being with people and being in a community where I’m cared for and can care for others. My friends would say I’m hyper and have unlimited energy, always ready to make plans and participate in the next adventure.
Composure: My high school coach has commented on my composure while playing. He’s seen me grow in this and he has looked to me to make some key plays in several important games.
Value setting up teammates to score just as much as scoring: Scoring is a huge part in the game, but I also love setting my teammates up for success too. It just makes me feel good when I send a perfect through ball past the back line to send my 9 (striker) straight to goal.
Lead by example: Many people have said that I’m a natural born leader, I don’t get too concerned whether people see me as that or not. Helping drive underclassmen to practice or picking up cones or equipment after practice are a few ways I regularly put my team first and show servant leadership. My focus is a team first mentality.
Strong on the ball: I hate losing the ball. It’s just that simple. I hate being pushed around and feeling helpless. If I lose the ball or just lose anything in general, I will fight for it until I get it back. I’m not easily intimidated going up against some big guy, I don't back down.
Mental toughness: I’ve had some situations in my life where I’ve needed to grind through some rough times. Looking back on them, I’m kind of glad they happened because they have made me who I am today. It gives me a sense of comfort knowing I can push through difficult situations and grind through things. One example happened in the last few minutes in an intense Super Sectional that sent us to State. The last few minutes were a grind, we had to lock down on defense and not concede a goal. That's exactly what we did, stayed compact and did not give up a goal in those last few minutes. Mental toughness creates a stronger team and a stronger bond between people.
I love being with people and engaging with my friends: A few activities I really enjoy doing with my friends are spike ball, playing football, getting together with my teammates and playing some pickup soccer at a field nearby, going out to eat anywhere, or just hanging out at someone's house. I also love Marvel, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, and many more “boy” like movies.
Being a Christian: I’m a Christian and I love playing soccer, and I’m on a journey that mixes those two together to glorify God. Going to a christian college will help me continue to explore that process. I want the experience of playing soccer with a group of guys who love the Lord, and want to spur each other on in our walk with God.
