Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Anthony Tambellini and I have been serious about soccer ever since I was 8. I have worked hard to always be the best I can be. Also, I believe being a team player is important. I have always had a good player-coach relationship with all my coaches and have trained hard on my own. My attributes are a good first touch, good vision of the whole field, dangerous in the attacking third, very competitive,  and according to my coaches, i have a excellent soccer IQ. I would love the opportunity to train with and play for a college at the highest level possible.

Academics plays a huge role in my life. My hard work ethic in soccer has translated into the classroom, giving me the discipline and perseverance to consistently work to excel in all ways possible.

  • Anthony was a pleasure to work with at camp. His technical skill and soccer IQ are exceptional. He controlled the midfield with his sharp technical skills and created many opportunities for his teammates with his vision and well weighted passes. He has a bright future ahead of him and I think he will be very successful at the next level. -Coach Brad Anthony of Wheaton College

  • 2017 ODP EVALUATION
  • 3/14/17 to 3/16/17
  • Evaluation done by Coach DiTomasso for my performance at ODP. Evaluation for Anthony Tambellini Position title: Player Evaluation date: 4/13/2017 Technical: You have excellent change of pace when dribbling. This has allowed you to more easily get passed your defender. You dribble with excellent speed when creating space to shoot. You are excellent at making your dribbling moves very believable. This has allowed you to throw your defender off balance. You have improved at completing your give and go's. You are now much better at noting where defenders are before you pass. You have excellent accuracy with your one touch passes. This is because you do a great job of playing to your teammates correct foot. You are excellent at keeping possession of the ball when receiving with the inside of your foot. This is because you are great at coming to meet the ball, which puts space between you and your defender. You have improved your accuracy shooting outside the 18. This is a result of working hard on the fundamentals. Work on improving at shooting outside the 18. What I have noticed is that your shot is sometimes not powerful enough. Remember to take a bigger backswing with your leg and follow through towards your target. This should help you put more pace on your shots. Tactical: You have improved switching the Keld when the other side is open. Because of this, your team has had more space to advance the ball and score. You have made great improvement at knowing when it is the right situation to dribble. You have made great improvement at making penetrating passes. This has created numerous scoring opportunities. Try to work on pulling the trigger sooner when in front of the goal. At times you lose opportunities to score by taking extra touches. Great scoring chances happen only a few times during a game, and to pass one up to take a couple of extra touches to get a better one can result in losing the opportunity all together. Have the conKdence to take the half chances. Work on improving your communication on defense. Having good communication is essential to good team defense. As the covering defender, you have to relay good information to your teammates, especially the Krst defender or the defender putting pressure on the ball. Instruction such as ""step up,"" ""take him to the left,"" or ""take him to the right,"" are little things that go a long way on defense You have made great improvement at marking opponents on defense. This has helped your defense out tremendously. You have improved pressuring your opponent on defense. This has made it very difKcult for the opposing team to create scoring opportunities. Psychological: You are extremely supportive of your teammates. You are excellent at listening to directions. You pick up drills the very Krst time, which makes coaching you a breeze. You have improved staying concentrated when marking. This has really helped your team out defensively. You have excellent effort during practice. You have excellent effort during games. Physical: Your excellent agility has allowed you to dribble effortlessly through trafKc. Your excellent endurance has allowed you to make more attacking runs up the Keld later in games. I appreciate how you have improved your Krst step on defense. I have noticed that you are beating other players to the ball more often. You have made great improvement with your speed in open space. Additional Comment: Bright future and a top notch player and attitude.
