Jose Escalante '15 Recruiting Profile

As a very ambitious person, i have always had big dreams accompanied by big aspirations. Being a soccer player in the next level is one of my biggest dreams, and although I call it a dream, i have full knowledge that it can become a reality. My efforts towards being a soccer player are huge, but they dont take away any efforts that i put towards being a good student and a great person. Many things set me apart from other recruits, I was born in Mexico and I lived there until I was 12 years old, as a cause of the insecurity, my family and i had to pack up and move to Chicago. I began to study, but also, my passion for the sport of soccer kept growing. My ability to dribble through defenders and my vision of the field developed greatly, my speed and explosion introduced me to the Right and Left winger back positions. I acquired the ability to dribble down the line and find a player, as well as the ability to keep a forward or winger from doing the same. Although not the tallest, my speed and strength make up for it. As a whole, both the soccer field and the field of medicine drag me into the next level of education and competition, and this makes me a great candidate for many teams.
