Two Sides to a Life
I find myself unique compared to anybody I’ve ever met. I have two sides to my life. I have a life outside of school where I have played travel soccer for Westside United for nine years now. Recently, this summer we finished 3rd in the Nation and I was given the honor of being awarded a top 11 player in the Nation. My other life being school where I have a 4.2 GPA, student of the quarter, MVP and captain of my soccer team, and actively involved in school programs.
The soccer field has been my home away from home for the past eight years. This past year has been the most successful so far in my soccer career. My team and I played in Indiana's highest caliber league. We were able to dominate the competition and move up to the regional level. Playing the best teams in all the Midwest. My team also conquered every team we played in the Indiana Presidents Cup. Advancing us to Regionals in Kansas and climbed the bracket until we reached the championship and took home the gold. Beating each state in our Regionals Presidents Cup. Advancing us to Nationals in Tennessee and finishing third. Here I was given an honor, an award that meant I was one of the Best 11 players at Nationals. Being only one of two selected on my team as MVP. This honor I was given that seemed like a dream, I was able to make into a reality with the help of my teammates. Making this my greatest soccer achievement.
My education has always been my number one priority. I have a 4.2 GPA and to me anything less than an A is unacceptable. I am hard on myself and would definitely consider myself a perfectionist. I try to do everything to the best of my ability. I have also been given the award of being a student of the quarter, twice, by being nominated by my teachers. I am part of National Honor Society and Student Athletic Leadership Council. For both of these I do community service and am required to represent, be a leader, and always have to hold myself to a high character. For my high school soccer team I have been varsity for four years and for three of those years I have been captain. I was given the MVP award two times and athlete of the month. Additionally I have been All Conference for four years. I take much pride in my soccer team and try and be the best leader I can for them. With my drive towards success on and off the field, I received Academic All Conference, which in our ICC Conference is having above a 3.75 GPA. I was also put in the Hendricks County Icon paper for my academic and athletic success.
I am unique, these many things make me different and stand out from everyone else. Everything I do, I do to the best of my ability. I believe this has helped me accomplish the things I have. And the accomplishments I’ve made are what truly make me unique, and these will expand as my life moves forward.
