I am looking forward to a college experience where I can grow, both athletically and academically. I plan on attending college to pursue a degree in physical therapy. I have always enjoyed athletics, and I have a deep love for helping people. I feel that this is a career that would combine both of these aspects.
As an athlete for a college team, I look to make an impact by being a dynamic player. I have the most experience at CDM, but I also have experience at center back and wing. I am continually training to improve my skills and physical abilities. Along with this, I bring a passion for the game and a work ethic to train hard and make myself and my team the best it can be.
For example, during my high school season this past year, for the first time since 2010, we made it to the sectional championship and this year was our first winning season since that 2010 season. Individually, I did pretty well with the post-season awards. I received the 1st Team All-City, 1st Team All-Conference, Courier & Press All-Metro Team, and the ISCA Top Team Player Award. Obviously, none of this would be possible without my teammates and coaches, and I would trade it all in for a lengthy run towards the state title, but that will be our focus next year. Immediately following this hard loss, my thoughts turned to training, and what was necessary to help get my team to where we want to be next season.
I have also played travel soccer since I was 8 years old. I spent most of my career with Sporting SI with a 2-year stint playing for Josh Tudela at Tudela Futbol Club. Our team this past season won 3 of 4 tournaments and went undefeated in the spring season. The focus this year is on winning our ISL Division again and winning the President’s Cup.
While I am proud of what my teams and I have accomplished, I am already working hard to help my teams achieve the next level of success.
Ethan, in my opinion, is a complete team player as it relates to the soccer field. He is undoubtedly, in my mind, a young man that is needed on the field to ensure his team is playing at a high rate and with a team-first attitude. He has brought this type of attitude throughout his soccer career. He made everyone around him better based on his attitude alone. He has taken time throughout his soccer career to interact and mentor with younger players to make sure they feel connected to the program. Ethan's playing style allows him to play and work at a high rate but he maintains control and composure at the same time. He has a great touch which allows him to really dictate what he wants to do on the field. His skill level is high but it's coupled with great knowledge of the game and positioning which has allowed him to succeed in multiple positions. He is an extremely coachable young man and is always looking to improve his game. He would make an outstanding addition to any team he joins, not only for his skill-set but his team-first attitude. He makes players work harder and he really strives to do the things that will allow himself and his teammates to be successful. Whatever team lands Ethan will not only be acquiring and exceptional soccer player, but they will be acquiring an outstanding teammate, role model, and advocate for their University.
