My name is Bergen Loveless and I am a senior at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Wichita, Kansas. I have played competitive soccer since I was 8 years old and would love the opportunity to play in college. I am a leader on the soccer field and in the classroom. I take my actions on and off the soccer field very seriously, and I see myself as a competitor as I have always driven myself to accomplish my goals in life.
I love the game of soccer. I know that sounds cliche, but I truly do. Soccer has taught me a lot, most importantly, work ethic, discipline, responsibility and especially the importance of team. For as long as I can remember soccer has been a defining importance in my life. The game, the competition is exhilarating, and I like that. However, the biggest impact has been the fond memories of traveling with my family all over the United States and the friendships I have made from playing the game of soccer.
I currently play club soccer for the 03 Kansas RUSH Wichita Academy. I also play varsity soccer and basketball in high school. I consider myself a smart athlete. I am not a real flashy player. I have great technique, I am very quick and have an above average ability to use my left foot as well as I use my right. I have been called a "nat" on defense because I bug the heck out of forwards, but I consider one of my strongest qualities on the soccer field, my field vision. I love playing defense, but most of the time in high school I play a midfielder. I like to aggressively bring the ball up the field and be an offensive threat as a defender. However, I am a versatile player as I play the middle of the field really well.
I am a straight A student taking mostly all Honors Classes and as a senior I will take 2 AP classes (Calculus and Chemistry). I currently have a 4.22 weighted GPA which ranks me 7th out of 283 students in my class. My education is extremely important, and I plan on it ultimately being the driving force that will decide where I go to school and if I play soccer. I am passionate about playing soccer in college, but I know that someday I will not be able to play soccer anymore and will need to have a career. I want to make sure I go to a school that I can play the best soccer I can play, but get the best education I can get. This is very important to me.
