Keagan Lewis '24 Recruiting Profile

I have always loved playing soccer.  I've been playing since the age of four and goalkeeper since the age of nine.  When I got the courage to ask my coach at nine if I could try it, he said, "Sure, why not, you're tall enough, we'll give it a try."  I had my first double save my very first game.  At that moment, I knew that I wanted to be a  goalkeeper.  From that team I got the nickname "Stretch"!  I moved on from that team to tryout for the most competitive club in the city, FC Wichita. I have been apart of this team ever since except for a couple years. I am apart of the U17 ECNL National team and U20 Academy UPSL team.  My dream, is to continue playing the game I love at the collegiate level and hopefully continue after.  I enjoy this sport so much that I play every chance I get, year-round, weekends, even holidays. I'm addicted to soccer and I love the sport so much. This is one thing that might make me stand out from other players, my drive and dedication. I want to be the best person I can be on and off the field. I am good at diving at any corner of the net, high balls and even low balls.  I love to dive and make saves that help lead my team to a win. Another quality I represent is being a team player.  I'm patient and will do what it takes to help my team win and I make sure we keep our heads up on and off the field. During games I don’t only work for myself but for my team. I don't like to lose, no one does, but I know how to keep it together and hold my composure during a game and realize this is a team sport.  We win as a team and lose as a team.  Also, coaches have always said great things about my character and abilities.  They tell me I'm very coachable, never a problem.  I have spent my entire academic career in the Catholic school system.  Education, respect and a dedication to God are the most valuable attributes I've gained from that education.  Thank you for your time.
