My name is Gabriel Rice and I am from Katy Texas. My goal is to play collegiate soccer at the highest level I can achieve. As a sophomore, I recieved 1st team all-district and the MVP award. As a junior I got 2nd team all-state and offensive player of the year. I have also participated in other sports in my high school career including football and track. In football, I recieved 2nd team all-district playing only one year. In track my primary event is the 800m with the PR time of 2:06 and I also run the 400m with the PR time of 0:55. Academics is just as important as athletics to me. I have achieved A-B honor roll the first semster of junior year with a overall 3.5 GPA unweighted. I was Academic All-State for soccer and football this yar as well.
I live by this statement "Hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard."
In school outside of my athletic and academic performance I have volunteered. This volunteer work includes Pancakes and praise, Barn Yard Buddies, helping with the Special Olympics, and participated in Faith in Action day. Pancakes and praise is a christian school gathering that tries to involve other schools to worship together, I help run the gathering as one of the leaders. I also think it is important in life to help those with special needs, having a brother with austim has opened my eyes and has helped me see the importance as to try to get them involved too.
