My name is Alex Albe I'm a senior at Northshore High School and will graduate in 2021. I have played soccer since I was 5 years old and began playing competitive travel soccer when I was 8 years old. I am the youngest of three sons and from the time I was little, I would finish my team practice and then participate in my older brothers team practices. I have been very blessed to have several strong coaches who have helped me to develop as a player. My first touch is very strong and I have been trained from a very young age to see the big picture on the field and to have good field awareness.
I have always strived to be a team player and to be a support and encouragement for my teammates. One of my greatest strengths is my willingness to pass the ball when my teammates are in a better scoring position. This has lead to less goals being scored by me, but I am very proud of the large number of goals scored by my teammates that I have played an important part of their success. I am hoping to find a college program that will see the strong foundations I have as a player and value the strong team work ethic that I have.
As I have started my senior year of high school, I have embraced the leadership role that my coaches have placed on my shoulders. Last year I made it my mission to mentor and lead the younger players. Our varsity squad was building from a previous class which graduated 15 senior players and very little had varsity playing experience. As a junior I tried to help the younger players adapt to the fast speed of play and physicality of high school soccer. I was very surprised when my coaches selected me to receive the Varsity Leadership Award which was normally given to a graduating senior. I realized that my coaches were depending on me to continue in that leadership role. Since the summer I have organized and lead many team workouts and training sessions and worked very hard to be in the best condition I can be to be prepared for this season.
Academically, I have successfully completed a dual college enrollment program as an Emergency Medical Responder and am currently enrolled in a dual college enrollment program to obtain certification as an EMT. When I graduate in May I hope to have my EMT Certification. Also, I have worked since I turned 16 and for the last year I have worked at a fine dining restaurant in my town. Although my schedule is very busy, I think it has helped me to become a better time manager.
Thank you for viewing my profile and considering me as a potential player for your program.
