I have learned a lot throughout my years of playing soccer, but one lesson that is profound and stays with me is, that life isn't about me on the field. In my earlier years of playing the game, I was a selfish player. I thought that keeping possession of the ball, and not thinking about the next player to pass it was what was best. I have come to realize that as long as a player is selfish he fails his team and himself even if they win the game. I have come a very long way and still have room for improvement. However, I believe that life lessons have given me great determination and drive, along with a humble spirit. I am a thankful person for the many opportunities to play the game and connect with great teachers. I take direction and instruction well and am always looking to improve in all areas of my life. This is why I believe I would be an asset to any team.
I work hard to maintain a balance in my academics and athletics knowing that success for me is managing them both. As an athlete, I am striving to reach my fullest potential so that I can be one of the best in the game. Ultimately, my goal in life is to be the best me, while making my parents, coaches, and teachers proud.
