Matthew Russo '23 Recruiting Profile

The best way to describe me is a solid team player who puts forth 100% effort to make the team succeed, whether on the field, at work, or at school completing a team project.   I have enjoyed playing soccer since Kindergarten but feel the best years have been with my travel and high school teams in which I developed close friendships. It is the camaraderie that occurs between players on a team with  great chemistry lead by a supportive coach that best fits me.

     When I was assigned to a project during school with students who did not do their part, I stepped up and made sure the assignment was fully completed on time.  In soccer, I help out my teammates when they make a mistake,  which they also do for me, in order for us to maintain possession of the ball and score.  It is the “we are in this together” mentality that keeps me going.  

I look forward to making new close and lasting friendships with my college teammates that will develop on and off the field.
