Being selected as a starter on the high school during my freshman year was a highlight of my high school soccer career, so far. I do however; feel like this past year has been the most rewarding. This past season our team “lost” seven seniors and we figured our team would be in a rebuild mode. We spent a lot of time practicing and this is where I took the opportunity to work with newer and less experienced team members. This helped in building trust and comradery with the team. We ended our season in 2nd place, but we held an undefeated team to a penalty kick. While not the outcome we wanted, we did work well as a team and we will be stronger next season.
I believe this experience has helped me grow as a person and focus my efforts in being a solid wing/striker. I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, being a leader and example to our team members. I’m interested in a college program that will be a good fit for me athletically, but also academically. I have outstanding work-ethic, character and leadership skills.
