Christian Brigham '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cristian Hernandez. It has always been my dream to play professional soccer and I feel like through college soccer it would be able to help me get there. I have been working hard to accoplish my dreams. I play defense either right back or center back. Every team I have been on the players and trainers always count on me to lead the team and to always have confidence and that is exactly what I do as a defender. I always give it my all at practice and games and I am very focused when it is time for practice and games. I never give up because it is for my own good and to be an example for my teammates. I have great discipline at both practice and during games but at the same time I play aggresive, hard, tactical, smart and quick. Since I play defense I always have the mentality of gaining respect from my opponents. I go in hard for every tackle and I remain focused at all times. My height helps me a lot. I am around 6'1. I am well disciplined at school, public areas and around the community including my own home not just in soccer. I have self discipline and I am a hard worker and very passionate. I always strive to do my best. I have played Varsity for two years and was captain for my senior year. I have great leadership skills and even when my team is having a tough season I always keep a positive attitude so that my teammates can have positive attitudes. I have played for many academies and club/travel teams. I have played for Real Maryland, Pachuca FC, and Maryland International Soccer Academy.  I currently play for the Dufief Dragons and I just finished playing for SSA Armada. With Armada we have won many tournaments. Such as, the bull run tournament, Mason Dixon Cup, and the NCSL division. We also came in second place in the August Cup. I was part of a Mexican Showcase that was held in silverspring which was meant to be seen by ooaches from the mexican league. I was picked to go on to the next round by the Cruz Azul coach. As a player I am a great leader, I am fast and have great endurance/stamina. I am good with my head, my shots are accurate and strong, my crosses are excellent and my control with the ball is great. I am good at playing physical and aggressive and I know how to shield the ball. My tackling skills are excellent, I am a great defender and leader. I can also take freekicks, I last a very long time in long runs, i weigh about 150 pounds. I love to practice not just play games, I never complain about practice I enjoy running and excercising. I like to stay in shape, eat healthy and practice with the ball. As a senior i was chosen to go to the senior All-Star game in Montgomery County.  I want to be able to go to a college that has a medium capacity of students. Not a lot but not a little. I would like to be a in a city -like area and I like to be challenged academically. I would also like to go to a Catholic University. My family and I also need financial assistance as we are in the process of applying for FAFSA. Having additional financial help is always a great help for my family and I. My desired major is Athletic Training. My goal as of right now is to either go to Italy, Spain, or England for soccer as I am looking into academies in Europe but the only thing holding my parents back is the money. But I am determined to reach my goals and I will not stop until I do. I am currently 17 years old and it is never too late.
