Bryce Corbett '18 Recruiting Profile

I was born into a Christian home and raised with the personality and mentality to strive in every situation I am. I was around seven years old playing every sport I could find to figure out a feel for what made me happy. When I found soccer it was like a light switch turned on and the feeling of putting the ball into the back of the net stuck in my mind and developed this burning passion. I never realized how competitive I was until soccer, and this instilled a trait into my mind of never giving up. It was my freshman year of high school and we were down 3-0, I looked around to everyone just to see them all giving up. I had a rough game, but in my mind when I saw the looks on everyone else’s face it hit me. I was not ready to lose this game, about 5 minutes later I put the ball in the back of the net, which rallied everyone together to win 4-3 in over time. This set a deeper meaning in my heart that no matter what in life you can always come out on top.

High school is a great beginning of my life, how much life experience I’ve learned is the base of the type of person I’m becoming. College is the next step in my life, to further my education, and further my abilities to handle life. I want from college to have fun, but most importantly to walk away with something I will actually use to further my life. I go to a private school with a small amount of kids with a weak sports program. No one at my high school enjoys soccer, they play just so we have a sports team. Through this its been a struggle to get noticed with my school, but in this it pushed me to reach out and find my opportunities. In this I believe I’m a strong asset in any soccer team I play on, through my drive to get better, and my ability to see plays happening during a game.
