Personal Statement

I'm happy to announce that I have recently committed to doing a Post Graduate (PG) year at Deerfield Academy as a candidate for the Deerfield graduating class of 2025 and playing for their soccer program.

At the age of four my parents decided to send me to Kindergarten as opposed to holding me back in preschool for another year. Around this time I also began playing soccer, in which my father had to lie about my age so I could play on my town’s travel team a year before everyone else my age was allowed. I excelled immediately both academically, being one of the top students in my class, as well as athletically, being a tri-athlete throughout my early youth playing soccer, fencing and baseball. However, my mind matured quicker than my body, leaving me as the smallest player on the field in practically every game. Due to my lack of physical strength, it was necessary for my technique, skill, and overall understanding of the game to trump everyone else's, so I decided to focus solely on the sport I loved the most; soccer. I put more hours in than everyone else I knew because I understood that’s what it would take for me to continue to excel. In time, my body caught up to my mind and I was able to combine the two to begin playing the game at a standard where I truly believe I can compete at the collegiate level. I’ve been told by coaches that my soccer IQ, vision, unselfishness, as well as positioning differentiate my game from others. With this passion for soccer as well as a 4.5 GPA, I intend on attending a University in which I can continue to work hard both in the classroom and on the pitch to become my absolute best in all aspects of being a student athlete. This sport is responsible for the most profound and happiest moments in my life thus far, and I want nothing more than to continue playing it as long as I can.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
