My name is Jarbin Martinez Diego I arrived in the United States on March 25, 2019. My soccer career began when I was 5 years old in my country of Honduras. At that time I was a goalkeeper. Then I moved into the striker position where I played with older children. I had to migrate to this country because I didn't have a chance in my country and I didn't have the support of my family either. When I arrived in the United States my father abandoned me at the border, I found myself alone with my sister.
When I arrived at Fitchburg High School I wanted to show that I could achieve my dreams of playing soccer one day at the professional level. I have played all four years on the varsity soccer team as well as a few club teams. I never had opportunities that other players were fortunate enough to have. This year as a senior I was selected to the All Star team. Although my academics have not been the best they could be, we went through the pandemic along with being abandoned my senior year again.
I hope that the NCSA wall accept me into the NCSA All In Award. I know with this opportunity it would allow more universities to see my talent as a soccer player. Many people have told me that I am very talented and I believe with the help of NCSA I will be able to pursue my dreams. I have not been fortunate enough to have parents pay for me to participate in travel leagues to truly showcase my abilities.
